Autumn 1: All About Me

Our theme for the first half of the summer term is 'All About Me'.

We will be looking at the child as a whole and learning about the children and their families. This is also an amazing time for children to discover their own abilities, preferences, where they live, and what makes them unique.

Our Science focus, which will occur near the end of the half term, will be on the seasonal change of autumn.

Every Tuesday the children will be going to the schools library.

Every Thursday the children in reception will have PE. Pe kits will be sent home at the end of each half term. This term we will be looking at walking and jumping.  

Reading 

By reading together every day, you stimulate and strengthen your child's language and literacy skills. It is that simple. By reading and talking with your child each day, you bond with them and model the love of reading, which will benefit them in school and throughout life.

Please make sure to read with your child at least five times a week with your child.

Two books will be sent home: a reading-for-pleasure book that the children will pick and change and a Little Wandle Book that the class teacher has decided on and selected and will change every Friday. 

Please bring your children's reading records every day and place them in the box outside the classroom.
